EMC's annual technical conference EMC World is rapidly approaching (May 9-12th in Las Vegas)! If you haven't been before, it really is a great conference (and no I wasn't paid to say that!) and I encourage you to attend – it's not too late!! Check out this video for a glimpse into what the show is like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLPwy5LwqHQ.
EMC's top technical leadership, engineers, field specialists and product managers are the presenters for the sessions so they aren't people just reading slides, its people who know the technology inside and out. As an example, here is the list of Conference Topics for 2011:
- Backup, Recovery and Archiving
- Big Data
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
- Cloud Computing
- Enterprise Applications
- Federation
- Mainframe Platforms
- Momentum/Information Intelligence
- Partner Solutions
- Security and Compliance
- Storage and IT Management
- Technology Directions and Innovation
- Tiered Storage and Automation
- Virtualization
This year I'll be attending and supporting our efforts with Microsoft. Microsoft is a top tier partner of EMC and will have a booth at the show showcasing their virtualization, SQL Server and Sharepoint efforts with EMC. I'll be helping to work their booth alongside Microsoft employees who specialize in these technologies and I'll be delivering several booth theatre presentations a day highlighting the top reasons to run your Microsoft applications on EMC VNX.
Additionally Microsoft will be presenting at a breakout session entitled Microsoft Corporation: Private Cloud with Microsoft Virtualization. At this session you will learn about Microsoft's Private Cloud architectures and solutions that focus on private cloud principals and how a private cloud reference architecture developed by Microsoft and EMC Storage can help you to build, deploy and operate Private Clouds based on Windows Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V and System Center. I know the presenter from the Microsoft virtualization team and you won't want to miss it!
